Cassiopea Jellyfish 2
Unikat | 160 cm x 120 cm | Without frame
In Greek mythology, the Cassiopea jellyfish is dedicated to Cassiopeia, the mother of Andromeda. In terms of phylogenetic history, jellyfish are among the oldest living creatures; they can be traced back 670 million years to the Precambrian period. In ancient times, Aristotle was interested in them, and among the hundred or so sea creatures he described, he called them cnidae, which means “stinging.” There are around 100 species of jellyfish in the Mediterranean.
