Unikat | 40 cm x 60 cm | With frame
The Nereid Galateia was associated with the Cyclops Polyphemus, but was loved by the shepherd boy Akis. The jealous Cyclops killed the lover, whereupon the nymph, out of pity, turned the boy's streaming blood into a river. In Greek mythology, the Nereids are the 50 daughters of Nereus and Doris. They are nymphs of the sea who protect shipwrecked people. They live at the bottom of the sea and are companions of the god Poseidon. In many ancient Greek depictions the Nereids ride on the backs of dolphins or hippocampuses
The picture frames are personally and individually selected by the artist and professionally, conservationally and sustainably custom-made by hand.
